The Process

Our flight nannies are committed to providing a stress-free, safe and compassionate transport of your beloved fur baby. We supply expert care and keep the process simple so you can relax regarding pet air transport

  1. Select your preferred dates and airports
  2. Complete the online quote request.
  3. Make the initial deposit. That deposit will be used to secure the needed flight tickets.
  4. We will schedule confirm the flight by booking tickets. Once we secure the flight information, the flight nanny will forward an itinerary with confirmed flight details.
  5. Payment in full is made the day before your pet's departure.
  6. Coordinate the pickup of the pet. It's preferred that you have your furry friend dropped off at the airport. We usually meet at an airport parking lot. If you are not able to have your fur baby dropped off, then we can pick up your pup from the breeder for an additional fee.
  7. Deliver pet to destination airport. We typically meet the owners in the baggage claim area. Here again, if you are not able to pick up your pet at the airport, the flight nanny will arrange to drop off at your home for an additional fee.

  • Your flight nanny will initiate a group text with both the breeder/sender, recipient and Pawsitive Landing Pet Transport 2-3 days prior to the scheduled delivery. This message will include essential details such as:
    • Meet-up times and locations
    • Contact information for quick coordination on the day of delivery
    • All updates, including any changes or flight cancellations, will be communicated promptly in this group text.
    • On the day of delivery, your flight nanny will keep all parties informed with updates on timing, any unexpected delays, and changes in meet-up logistics, if needed.

Transporting a dog from one state to another via plane

Travel Pack List

  • Ensure that your fur baby is clean; give a bath if needed
  • Forego eating at least 2-3 hours prior to pickup
  • Provide a potty break before pickup
  • Pack a favorite toy and blanket with the mother’s scent on it
  • Provide a small bag of food or treats for the pet.  If your dog eats a specialized or prescription diet, bring enough food with you for at least the length of your trip.
  •  Prepare Medications: If your dog is on any prescription medications, be sure to pack enough for at least the length of your trip.
  • Leash
  • Soft Sided pet carrier - TSA-approved pet carriers must fit under an airplane seat, typically not exceeding 18 x 11 x 11 inches for soft-sided options. Check out recommended carriers on out PRODUCTS page.
  •  Proper documentation including vaccination records, health certificates to comply with CDC and USDA regulations.  Your dog won’t need a signed health certificate for many domestic flights, but it’s still best to have your dog examined by your veterinarian. Your vet will confirm that your dog is healthy enough to travel, if they’re up-to-date on vaccinations, and will provide you with an updated rabies certificate.
  • International transportation - Are you taking your pet from the United States to another country? Contact a USDA-accredited veterinarian as soon as you decide to travel. They will help you determine your destination country's pet entry requirements and assist you through the process.

Most of the time we will meet your new pet at the airport but we are happy to arrange ground pickup and/or ground delivery if needed. We love it when we can offer you complete same day door-to-door service.

Ground pickup and home delivery are also possible. Pricing is based on distance from the airport. Often times we can take a short taxi ride to you or rent a car for longer trips. We love to offer complete door-to-door pet transportation service when possible.

We have a strict "no paws on the ground" policy when it come to puppy transportation. They will never touch the ground in public places and we avoid contact with other people and pets. The pet relief stations at airports are not intended for vulnerable puppies so instead we use the private family restrooms to put down a potty pad. Often times we carry a pop-up tent so your puppy can have a clean and private space to do his business while we travel.

Yes, it is very possible to travel with multiple pets. Two small dogs or cats can travel in one pet carrier on some airlines. Other airlines allow us to purchase an additional seat to take two pet carriers. Sometimes we use multiple pet nannies to get all of your pets home on the same flight.
